Raised Embroidery

3DElephant.pngBERNINA Embroidery Software provides tools and techniques for expanding flat embroidery surfaces into raised or ‘sculpted’ surfaces.

Quilting creates dimension by stuffing or filling areas to produce a raised surface. In BERNINA V9, the quilting feature consists of two components: Raised Satin to create ‘puffy embroidery’, and Trapunto Outlines to turn puffy embroidery designs into trapunto designs.

Needle felting, also called ‘dry felting’, is a popular fiber-arts craft that creates felt without the use of water. In BERNINA V9, a dedicated PunchWork tool allows you to create felting objects and designs for use with the BERNINA Rotary Hook Punch.

Couching in embroidery refers to the technique of fixing a thick cord or yarn onto the fabric, usually for decorative purposes. BERNINA V9 lets you create couching designs for use with the BERNINA Free Motion Couching Foot #43.

There are also tools which allow you to quickly and easily create preset quilting and buttonhole layouts.
