Create couching designs

	Use Stitches > Single Outline to create a single row of stitches along a digitized outline – used for borders or details.
	Use Effects > Couching to add couching cord for use with the BERNINA Free Motion Couching Foot #43.
	Click View > Show Stitches to show or hide embroidery stitching.
	Click View > Show Needle Points to show or hide the needle points in embroidery stitching.

To create a couching design in BERNINA V9, follow this process:

1Open or create the design you want to use.

2Create or designate the Single Outline stitching which is to form the couching.

3Select Single Outline objects and apply the Couching effect. The cord is displayed as a thick graphic line. It takes the color of the outline stitching.

4Go to stitch view and turn on needle points.

5Adjust needle point display colors as necessary.

Usage tips...

Avoid or minimize jumps/connectors between different couching objects in the design. Don’t use jumps for automatic connectors.
Avoid or minimize couching crossing over itself.
