Creating design layouts

The Layout toolbox allows you to arrange multiple embroidery designs or design elements on a fabric, garment, or item such as tablecloth. Design layouts are not restricted to the hoop area. Large work areas – up to 3m x 3m or 10' x 10' – can be defined and designs arranged within a single layout. There is no limit to the number of hoopings possible for a large layout.

Using Layout tools, it’s also a simple matter to define a quilt block and display it as a work area. You can then arrange elements around the block, with or without a central design element.

Overall process

The overall process is as follows:

You can also print layouts with hoop position markers for use with a hoop template. Use them to physically lay out the design on the item you want to embroider. You can also print the template which can be used to position each of the hooped portions of the design.

Note  Work area has no bearing on hoop size. With the Multi-Hooping toolbox, you can place multiple hoopings around an entire work area.
