Many hobbyists buy embroidery alphabets from third-party suppliers. Embroidery character designs are very popular. Naturally, embroiderers want to be able to use them in BERNINA V9 by mapping to keyboard characters. The Keyboard Design Collection feature provides a convenient way to do this.
Grade A or Grade B files always produce best results. You will find sample collections in ART format amongst your BERNINA V9 design inclusions. However, most third-party embroidery character designs are found in machine file formats such as EXP, PST, PES, etc.
Caution Be careful when using converted machine file formats. For instance, when mapping EXP files as KDC, best results are obtained by importing without object recognition (Grade D). See Open machine files for details.
